Councilmember Kevin Newman

Councilmember Kevin Newman, an Inman native, has served on City Council since 2006. As a local business owner, he was called to serve on council to give the local businesses representation on council. Newman was an integral part of converting the form of government in Inman to a council/administrator form of government. He also helped establish and organize some of the events that are now staples within the city, such as Music on Mill and Cartoberfest. His favorite event that he played an integral role in starting in Inman was Light Up Inman, our annual tree lighting ceremony, and festivities.

Newman lives in Inman with his wife, Kelly and their son, Finnegan. The Newman family loves to travel. Mr. Newman has visited all 50 states and over 20 countries and now enjoys taking Finnegan on the family travels. He is the manager for his family’s business, The Frame House, which is one of the oldest businesses in the city and is also the owner/instructor for Pool Guy Trainers, LLC.

Professional and Educational Background

Mr. Newman attended all District One schools and is a graduate of Chapman High School. He attended the University of South Carolina where he earned a B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant Tourism Management and was also a member of the Carolina Band.

He is a graduate of the Advanced Municipal Elected Officials Institute, which, along with the rest of Council’s participation, gives Inman the distinction of being on the Municipal Association’s Honor Roll each year.
