Councilmember Ray Rogers, Jr.
I first served the City of Inman as a Junior Chamber of Commerce Vice President and as a Councilmember in 1972. At the time, I was the youngest member ever elected to the City Council. How little did I know that 42 years later I would try once again to make a difference.
Born in Inman, my heart has always been in our City. However, we lived in Spartanburg, then in Wilmington, DE for over 25 years, before moving back to Inman in the Summer of 2009. We now reside in the Eufaula neighborhood.
Now retired – and working harder than ever, but enjoying it – I continue my practice as an architect and serving my home town of Inman as a City Councilmember.
I enjoy reading, golfing, playing guitar, piano and keyboard, and flying as a private pilot when I have time (and can afford it).
As an excited, third-year council member, my goals are simple: to work with others on the City Council and our faithful City employees to help grow Inman and to provide a safe and healthy place for our citizens to live.
My vote is and always will be cast with Inmanites in mind and the needs of our future generations. To do that effectively, I welcome your input, emails, and phone calls.
Professional and Educational Background
Owner of Rogers' Architectural Associates
Married to Donna Rogers (née Guy)
3 Children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren
Retired after 38 years from CH2M Hill (former Lockwood Greene Architectures/Engineers)
My greatest joy and passion comes from teaching Bible fellowship classes for over 45 years. My family presently attends First Baptist North Spartanburg and has been there for over 40 years. This gift from God to teach is not taken lightly. It takes priority over everything because it is the only thing that has everlasting value.
As an architect, I also have a ministry of helping churches with the planning and development processes of building new facilities.
